Obituary of Robert E. Dickson
Robert E. Dickson, 93, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015.
He was born in Shelby, Ohio and was a design engineer for Goodyear Aerospace retiring in 1984 after 32 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. Mr. Dickson was a member of Firestone Park United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of IATSE. He was an avid bicyclist and an artist. He loved to paint. He enjoyed traveling, lapidary, hiking and bagpipe music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel G. and Harriett (Kern) Dickson; and his wife, Christine R. (Rollinson) Dickson in 2014. He is survived by sons, Daniel (Laura), Duane (Ginni) and David (Mary) Dickson; brother, Douglas (Janet) Dickson; sister-in-law, Ruth Rollinson; grandchildren, Caroline (Donald, Jr.)Davis, Erin (Craig) Larkins and Rose and Rachel Dickson; and great-grandchildren, Sophia, Will, Maria, Alicia, Austin, Amelia and Anthony.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Firestone Park United Methodist Church, 250 N. Firestone Blvd. Akron, Ohio 44301. Pastor Randy May officiating. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S.
