Obituary of Florence Haddad

Florence Haddad, 93, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Copley Health Center surrounded by her family. Flo was born in Akron on June 5, 1922 to the late Elias & Sophie David, and was an area resident her whole life. She was one of the oldest living members of St. George Antiochian Church, where received she the Bishop's award for Church Dedication. Flo also was an original member of the Ladies Club, and could always be found cooking for church events. She loved her family most of all, and was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Flo worked as a secretary for P.I.E. Trucking and later for Karam & Simon Realty. In addition to her parents, Flo was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; son Ray; and sisters Evelyn Adamany & Anna Jahant. She is survived by her daughter Donna (John) Bee; granddaughters Lisa & Jessica Haddad, Ashley (Hilber) Vasquez, Matt (Ivana) Bee, and Stephanie (Charlie) Brammer; sisters Wajiha Jaber & Evelyn Aboud; great-grandchildren Alexa & Alana Ferrante, Adrian Traughber, Angelica & Ray Vasquez, Megan & Jared Wise, and Sebastian & Frida Bee. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 7 from 5-8 PM at the Anthony Funeral Home, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral service will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 AM at St. George Antiochian Church, 3204 Ridgewood Rd, Akron, 44333, where Florence will lie in state from 10-11 AM.
