Please accept the condolences of our family at the falling asleep of Father Lou. He was a GREAT shepherd to ALL the Orthodox communities within the area and also to his Portage Lakes “parishioners”. His kindness, generosity and words of wisdom will long be remembered. He was a longtime friend and will be in our thoughts and prayers always. Jen and I could not thank him enough when he opened his church to us over 20 years ago when we got married. We are forever grateful for his love and friendship that he showed our family. As choir director from St. Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church, I had the privilege on many occasions to serve with him at weddings and funerals of others. His words of wisdom will forever be with me. I have many lovely memories of Father Lou but one sticks out. The last service I had the honor of doing with him, he spoke of the deceased 95 year old lady as not passing away but graduating to her final resting place. Truly for your wonderful work on earth Father Lou, you have graduated and earned your wings in heaven. Let us celebrate the time Father Lou had with us and rejoice on his day of graduation. To Corrine, Louie(Amy), David, Tammy(Dano) and the rest of the family, may the Good Lord be with you and help you through this difficult time. Thank you for sharing Father Lou with all of us.
