Obituary of Barbara Ann Marchion

GREEN – Barbara Ann Marchion, 81, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Barberton Citizens Hospital after a brief illness. Barbara was born in Akron, Ohio where she lived her entire life. She was a member of Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church, enjoyed crocheting afghans (donating many) and volunteered many hours to school band boosters and church groups. Barbara was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother and dedicated her whole life to her family! Dinner was served at 2Pm for all holidays, picnics and family gatherings which she planned weeks in advance. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Joseph; parents Hershel and Lura (Hines) Burton; siblings Jeannine, James and Richard; half-sister Cherry; daughter-in-law Robin and aunt Ruth and many other relatives. Barbara is survived by her children Joseph (Patti) and Thomas (Darlene) Marchion, Sharon (Terry) Hudnall, Jeffrey (Julie) Marchion, Janice (Dave) Calcei and Gregory (Bev) Marchion; grandchildren Jeremy, Valerie (Jason), William (Alicia), Krystal (Chris), Jeffrey, Audrey, Joseph (Tricia), Michael (Sharon), Gregory, Joanna, Kristina (Andrew), Victoria, Kimberli, Thomas and Melissa; great grandchildren Isabelle, Kierra, Kimberly-Grace, Caiden, Joseph, Hunter, Jada, William, Alyvia, Abigail, Layla, Brooklynn, Chloe and Wyatt; step grandchildren Maria, Mitchell and Alexa; sisters Connie and Beverly (Les); sisters-in-law Theresa and Vera many nephews and nieces. Special thanks to long time health care providers Drs. Michael Bage, Robert Hines, Linda Keith, Daniel Chua and the Green Fire/Paramedics. The family will receive friends TODAY 4 to 8 pm at the Anthony and Son Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Road (corner of Massillon and Steese Roads in Green, entrance off of Steese). Funeral services will begin at the funeral home Saturday at 9:30am and will continue with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Rd, Akron, OH 44319.
