Mrs. Tregoning was one of my teachers back in elementary school. That feels like it was ages ago but I remember that she brought a certain vigor and passion to her career that seems hard to find these days. I never saw her put anyone down or treat them as lesser even if they weren't very good with music. She was a kind soul. Probably one of my favorite teachers from those days. She will be truly missed. My prayers and condolences go out to all who mourn her departure from this world.

I was privileged to know Jan. We taught together back in the late 1970's at Miami Trace Local Schools in Fayette County near Washington Court House. She loved her music job so much, and loved her students even more. Her enthusiasm was contagious to children and adults. I know she will be missed by her families at home and at school.

Love this photo from Jan's Facebook page. She did the "Marlo Thomas" doo with hard rollers she would struggle to sleep on, and would occasionally use orange juice cans.

I am at a loss for words so I'll just have Emerson say them for me...this spoke to me.
Glory Of Friendship
The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand,
nor the kindly smile nor the joy of companionship;
it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when
he discovers that someone else believes in him and is
willing to trust him.
by Ralph Waldo Emerson

Erin, Patrick and family,
You have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your mom. I had the privilege of teaching with Jan for many years and also having her as a parent when Pat received speech therapy from me at Longcoy. She was a wonderful person who touched so many lives. She was upbeat even in her worst times. You have my deepest sympathy and I will hold you all deep in my prayers.
