Nancy Rose Naswadi Chula
Akron, OH – Nancy Rose Naswadi Chula, 60 died May 17, 2015 after a two year battle with leukemia.
Born in Akron, Nancy was a graduate of Garfield High School, Kansas City Kansas Junior Community
College (ADN, nursing) 1978 and Akron University (AAS Surgical Technology 1976 & BSN
2004).
Married in 1976, she worked as a nurse in five different states while her husband was in the US
Army. Always striving to improve her education, her return to school in 2004 introduced her to her very
best friend, Gea Benedict who also became an RN. She last worked for 23 years in the operating room of
Akron Children's Hospital as a CNOR. She was a registered nurse for 37 years.
She was a loving wife, friend, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and nursing colleague, always kind, compassionate and
caring. Nancy loved her boxer dogs and her Hungarian heritage but most of all her Family.
Married to Robert Chula Jr. in 1976, May 22nd would have been their 39th wedding anniversary. Nancy was
preceded in death by her parents George and Rose (Francis) Naswadi . She is survived by husband
Robert (Bob) Chula Jr., sons Robert Louis Chula and Aaron (Samantha) Chula, grandsons Shane, Gabriel
and Liam Chula, brothers George (Jeanne) Naswadi and Raymond (Jackie) Naswadi, sisters- in -law
Rebecca Chula, June Chula and Joan Doershuk, Goddaughter/niece, Donna (Rodney) Fruge, and nieces
Amy Horning, Amber Doershuk, nephews Raymond Naswadi Jr., Jeffrey Naswadi, Tyler Chula and
Vincent Campbell.
The family will receive friends Friday from 11 am to 3 pm and 5 to 7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 South Main Street, Akron, OH where a Catholic funeral service will be provided at 7 pm. A memorial dinner will follow at 8 pm at the Hungarian-American Club of Akron at 694 East Waterloo Road, Akron, OH. For those who wish, a benefit memorial fund has been established at the US Bank in the name of Nancy Chula
Benefit Fund to help the family meet medical and funeral expenses.
The family is grateful the medical staffs at the Bone Marrow Transplant ward of Cleveland Clinic and Intensive Care Unit of Akron
