Obituary of Walter Henry Schneeberger

Walter passed away peacefully on April 18, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was born August 30, 1934 in Deerfield, OH. He attended Atwater High School where he was a star athlete and played the clarinet in the marching band. Walter attended Kent State University while working at Roadway Express. He was very charismatic and won many speaking awards as well as teaching many real estate and motivational classes. Walter was a very proud Mason. Walter was also a licensed pilot and for a very short time he owned a small plane. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, horse racing, and playing cards. Walter, along with Ernest Hartmann, started Schneeberger Realty Company, "A Name to Remember" in 1960. Dad was proud of the fact, that in 35 years as a real estate broker, he never went to court. Instead, he would sit down with the client and create a solution. He, along with six other individuals,invested in an invention that became known as the Sensormatic Anti-Theft Machine. This is what led him to become the President of the Northeast Ohio Division of the Sensormatic Company for many years. Walter was preceded in death by his parents Walter & Anna; sister Anna Mae (Oliver Vayner) and son-in-law Jim Johnson. He is survived and will be missed by his loving wife of 63 years Dolores Eve. Mom was the love of his life and their's was a true love story. He is also survived by his daughters Betty (Richard) Huff, Linda Johnson, Toni (Rick) Rodgers, and Karla (John) Hall; grandchildren Shonna, Kristy, Becky, Jimmy,Mark, Jason, Julian, & Jackson, as well as 20 great-grandchildren & one great-great-grandchild. He was loved and respected by many other relatives, friends, and associates that will miss him. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 4-7 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, 12:00 pm, at the funeral home, where the family will again receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
