Obituary of Paul Raymond Bearer

Paul Raymond Bearer passed away on April 16, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Paul was born in Akron on December 26, 1941 to the late Elmer & Margaret (Kirkpatrick) Bearer. Paul enjoyed polka music, long rides in the country, going to the casino, and being with his family. Paul graduated from Central High School in 1960, where he was all-city in football. He married his wife Jeanne on May 18, 1968 and they shared 46 years together. Paul served in the US Army and retired from the US Postal Service in 1992 with 30 years of service. He was involved in CYO football as a coach. He helped with the Annual Firestone Park Community Christmas Concert, Picnic, Ice Cream Social, and the Summer Lunch Program. He was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3410. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. Paul is survived by his wife Jeanne; his children Stephanie Goldsmith & John (Jodi) Bearer, and his pride and joy, granddaughter Kylie Quinn Bearer; sister Rita Reed and brothers Joseph (Sue) & Patrick (Gail) Bearer, as well as a host of family and friends. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his sisters Jane, Edna, Elsie, and Doris, as well as his mother and father-in-law Margie & Ed Kondrajian. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Pfeiffer on Friday, April 24, 1100 am, at St. Paul Catholic Church 1580 Brown St. Akron, OH 44301, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
