Obituary of Constantine C. Goron

Constantine C. (Deno) Goron, 94, fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, April 10, 2015. He was born in Akron and was a member of Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church. Deno was a former member of the Romanian League and played football and baseball for Garfield High School to which he was very proud of. He also attended his 50th Class Reunion. He played semi-pro football for the South Akron Awnings. He was former vice-president of Fred Marvin and Associates and retired from B.F. Goodrich in 1978 after 36 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. serving during World War II where he was injured. He served in Guam and Iwo Gima. He was also a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Honor Guard Akron Lodge 566. He enjoyed playing golf and had a hole-in-one at the age of 79. The family would like to acknowledge Norenda (Norki) Jones, Larry Ainge and Bill Sigler, DVM for their friendship and compassion for Deno through the end. He was preceded in death by parents, William and Margaret; wife, Darlena (Sue); and sisters, Helen and Millie. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Deana and Brian Daeley; nieces and nephews; beloved Boston Terrier, Dolly; and many friends. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at Presentation of Our Lord Orthodox Church, 3365 Ridgewood Rd. Fairlawn, Ohio 44333 where Deno will lie in state one hour prior to service. Very Rev. Dr. Ian G. Pac-Urar officiating. Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S.
