Obituary of Wilda Geraldine Higgins

After 93 years on this earthly home, Wilda Geraldine Higgins became forever alive on April 2, 2015, as she became absent from the body and present with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Arnold; young son, Hartley Higgins; parents Francis and Alta; brothers Leonard, Hobert & Glenn; son-in-law Gary Grimm; great-granddaughter Marinna Hicks; and loving friend Claire Llewellyn. A legacy of hard work and contentment was demonstrated by the inseparable team of Geraldine & Arnold as together they delivered the Beacon Journal for over 20 years, 365 days a year. She leaves children Eugene (Charlotte) Higgins, DeLoryes (Roger) Hicks, and Dana Grimm; grandchildren Dewayne Hicks, Leona Plesz, Shelly Hicks, Cynthia Duckworth, Russell & Richard Higgins, and Jacob, Katie & Hartley Grimm; sister Ernestine (Richard) Miller; and special friend Sharon Milhoan. The circle of family also includes 19 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren. "Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever" Amen. Funeral services will take place at 11 AM on Wednesday April 8, at the Anthony Funeral Home, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where the family will receive friends and relatives for one hour prior beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be at East Liberty Cemetery.
