Obituary of Lillian Mae Pachipka

Lillian M. Pachipka, 96, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Laurels of Massillon. Lillian was born April 21, 1918 to Stephen and Anna (Kocis) Safko in Akron and had been an Akron resident until moving to Canal Fulton in 2003. She was a 1937 Graduate of St. Vincent High School and graduated from Kent State with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1941. She taught at Akron Public Schools for 9 years. Lillian was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and a former member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she served as a Lector and a Greeter. She was a member of St. John Ladies Guild, Altar and Rosary Society, was treasurer of The St. Vincent de Paul Society and delivered Mobile Meals. She was a member of the Jednota Branch 553, a long time bowler at Jednota Lanes and a member of Firestone Park Primetimers. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband John in 2006 and sisters Elinor (Michael) Babbey and Helen (Bob) Clifford; she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Ann Marie and Paul Robinson; brother Joseph (Karen) Safko; grandsons Dr. John (Dr. Angela), Shawn (Elsie) and Dr. Paul (Dr. Anna) Robinson; great grandchildren Ethan, Drew, Emily, Jake, Zach, Gabe and Claire Robinson. The family will receive friends Friday 4 to 8 pm at the Anthony and Son Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Rd. Uniontown OH 44685 (corner of Massillon and Steese Rds., entrance off Steese Rd.). Funeral services will held Saturday 9:40am at the funeral home and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd. Uniontown.
