Obituary of Glendon Peter Smith
Peter Smith, 66, died unexpectedly Sunday February 15, 2015.
Pete was born in Windsor, Vermont on June 5, 1948 to Glendon and Fernande Smith. He was a proud member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Pete worked for Goodyear for 35 years and Toth Automotive as a salesman for 15 years. He married his wife Judy in 1996 and was the kind of man you could go to for help with anything. Pete loved golf and was a huge Cleveland Indians fan. He was known for his sense of humor, generous spirit and contagious laughter. Pete was larger than life and was extremely important to everyone he knew.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Glendon and Fernande Smith. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Judy; children Christopher (Nancy) Smith, Daphyne (Joe) Maddox, Kenneth Smith, Robin (Kirk) Morey, Brandon (Virginia) Bostic and Kristia Bostic; siblings Carol (Jack) Brady, Tommy (Bonnie) Smith, Michael Smith, and Diane (John) Knowles; and grandchildren Zeke, Judah, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Emily and Aidan; and dog/best-friend Sydney.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, at 1 PM at the Anthony Funeral Home, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St in Akron, where the family will receive friends beginning at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
