Obituary of Deborah Lynn Horvath

Deborah Lynn Horvath, 61, passed away peacefully on February 5, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Germany on November 12, 1953 to the late Clem and Evelyn Gurganious, Debi had been an area resident for most of her life. She was a graduate of Garfield High School. Debi worked for many years as a beautician, before retiring to be with her grandchildren in 2004. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and was a past member of the Firestone Park P.T.A. for many years. She enjoyed crafts, watching movies, and playing games with her family. Her humor and selflessness will never be forgotten. In addition to her parents, Debi was preceded in death by her husband Frank, Jr. in 2003. She is survived by her daughters Jaclyn (Todd) Langenek and Victoria Horvath; grandchildren Grace & Andrew Langenek; sister Brenda Salyer, as well as numerous 'favorite' nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, 6-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, 11 am, at Hope Lutheran Church on Portage Lakes Drive, where the family will again receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hope Lutheran Church 999 Portage Lakes Drive Akron, OH 44319.
