Obituary of Dorothy J. Jandecka

Dorothy Jean Jandecka (Nine) age 87 passed away on January 30, 2015 at Pleasant View Health Care Center in Barberton. Dorothy was born on February 1, 1927 in Akron, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Harland Nine, brother Tom Nine, and her husband of 66 years, Clyde Jandecka. Dorothy retired from the M. O'Neil Company as the Bridal Registrar. She was a joyous, optimistic caregiver who dearly loved her family and excelled in sewing, baking and crafting. She was a long time member and former elder of the Firestone Park Christian Church; and a life member of VFW Post 3383 Auxiliary. She was also a member of the YK Rod Club who, with her husband, helped found the family and sportsman club in 1958 in southern Ohio and loved spending time there camping with her family and friends. Dorothy will be dearly missed by her brother Bud (Joyce) Nine, sister in law Rita Nine; loving and caring children Linda (Gene) Rohrbough, David (Annabelle) Jandecka, Sally (John) Duffy, Sara (Rick) Simmers, Bill (Mary) Jandecka; grandchildren Amy (Brenda) Brooks, Felicia (Brenda) Brooks, Darlene Jandecka, Jeanine (Dave) Gritzer, Zachary (Samantha) Rohrbough, Erin and Lauren Simmers, Hunter and Heather Jandecka; and great grandchild Adrianna Rohrbough. The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the Morris family, Dr. Carl Simmers, nurses, aides, physical therapists and staff for the loving care that was given to Dorothy at Pleasant Pointe Assisted Living, and Pleasant View Health Care in Barberton. Friends may call on Friday, February 6 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at the Firestone Park Christian Church, 40 E. Wilbeth Rd., Akron Ohio 44301. A celebration of Dorothy's life follows at 7:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Clyde Jandecka Music Fund at the church.
