What are at-need funeral arrangements?
An at-need funeral service is arranged directly after the loss of your loved one, without pre-arrangements. Typically, one or more family members meet with a funeral director in person to make arrangements, often within 24 hours after the loss has occurred. During this time, family members can decide on the type of service, calling hours, merchandise (such as the casket and vault), clothing, prayer cards, and other items. Add-on services can also be discussed at this time, such as the use of a limousine or opting for a memorial reception.
This type of arrangement can sometimes feel rushed, but our directors will walk you through the steps and will never pressure you into something you don't want or need.
What are the benefits of at-need arrangements?
Primarily, you have the opportunity to plan a funeral or celebration of life, which can be a meaningful experience. Sometimes, making arrangements for a loved one helps facilitate a healthy way to grieve. It allows you to go through photos and memories, to reminisce while planning a proper tribute.

Traditional Funeral Service
The most common service is the Traditional Funeral Service, where your loved one is present for a viewing, followed by a funeral service. A viewing is held to allow friends and family to see the deceased and pay their last respects, but also to extend their condolences in person. This precedes the funeral and can be held at the funeral home or in a church, generally lasting from one to three hours.
Along with a visitation, a service may be held at the funeral home or in a church, officiated by a priest or minister of your choosing, or by one of our certified funeral celebrants. We offer both religious and contemporary services.
This service package includes the use of our hearse to transport your loved one from the funeral site to the cemetery. It also includes preparation of the deceased and embalming if you wish, or on-site cremation, burial or entombment, the use of the funeral home, staff services, printed supplies such as holy cards and a register book, and all transportation. You may choose additional purchases such as the casket and burial vault, urn, cemetery plot, and other funeral goods and services.
Ultimately, the choice is yours as to what you wish to include or exclude. Our goal is to give you options to memorialize your loved one, but we will not push you into anything you don’t want or need.
Memorial Service
A Memorial Service differs from a Traditional Service because it does not include a viewing, and the remains of your loved one will not be present. Instead, it consists of a ceremony meant to commemorate the life of your loved one, either at the funeral home or in a church.
This service package includes usage of the funeral home or staff services at a church, all transportation, and professional services. Items to be purchased additionally include the casket, burial vault, urn (if you choose cremation), cemetery plot, and other funeral goods and services.
Celebration of Life Service
A Celebration of Life service is meant to memorialize a life well lived in a unique and meaningful way, so that your loved one is honored, cherished, but most importantly, remembered exactly as they were. Our Funeral Celebrant will personalize the service by meeting with your family and telling your loved one's story, either at our funeral home or another location of your choosing. Your loved one's remains do not need to be present during this service unless you wish. A visitation prior to the service is optional.
Graveside Service
A Graveside Service takes place at the burial site for close friends and family. Your loved one may or may not be viewed upon your wishes. A brief service will take place at the graveside, either by a priest or minister of your choosing, or by one of our certified funeral celebrants.
This service package includes all transportation, professional services, and optional tent rental from the cemetery. Items to be purchased additionally include the casket and burial vault, urn (if you choose cremation), cemetery plot, and other funeral goods and services.
This type of service provides an opportunity to gather together and briefly memorialize your loved one at the cemetery. Though it may be short, the location offers a meaningful good-bye that can help facilitate closure.
Direct Burial
A Direct Burial option takes place quickly after death occurs. This does not include a public viewing or visitation, so embalming is not necessary.
This basic package includes facility and professional services and all transportation. Additional costs include the casket and burial vault, cemetery plot, and other funeral goods and services. If you wish, you can add a memorial service or graveside service to this option.
Direct Cremation
Direct Cremation takes place quickly after death occurs. This does not include a public viewing or visitation, so embalming is not necessary.
This basic package includes professional services, removal and care of the deceased, and on-site cremation. Additional purchases include an urn or other container, and other funeral goods and services.
The cremated remains may be buried, placed in a crypt or niche in a cemetery, or kept by the family. If you wish, you can add a memorial service or graveside service to this option.
