Obituary of Charles Groves

-SILVER LAKE Charles F. Groves passed away on April 29 at his home in Silver Lake. Born in Sumemrfield, OH in 1934, Chuck grew up in Ohio and lived in Silver Lake, OH since 1987. He had previously been a resident of Mount Vernon, IN from 1967-1987. Mr. Groves was employed as a purchasing agent for B & W Co., retiring in 1990 with 34 years of service. He also held the same position for Kobelco Co., retiring in 2001. He had currently been employed by Thrifty Car Rental. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Lorena Groves. he is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Mary (Schwarz) of Silver Lake; sons and daughters-in-law Chuck of North Canton, Steve and Angie of Cuyahoga Falls, Bill and Sylvia of Evansville, IN, and Mike and Linda of Fishers, IN; daughters and son-in-law Mary Groves of Silver Lake and Anne and Joe Halter of Germany; grandchildren Tim and Matt Groves, Sarah and Steven Groves, Alex and Adam Groves, Max, Mitch, and Nick Groves, and Joey, Jeannie, and Jessica Halter; great-grandson Zachary Groves; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-7 pm at The McGowan-Reid & Santos Funeral Home (at 3rd st., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls.) A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at Noon am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stow. Cremation will follow. Donations in Charles' memory may be made to The Holy Family Building Fund.
