Obituary of William G. Yankevice
William G. Yankevice, "Yank", 84, passed away March 21, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 7, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Yank served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy both in W.W.II and the Korean Conflict. He was active as a Naval Reservist and retired at rank of Chief. Until his retirement, he worked at Jones Buick and Lambert Buick as parts manager.
His wife of 62 years, Isabel, survives him. He is also survived by his three daughters and their husbands, Clara and Steve Francis of Apopka, Florida, Noreen and Edgar Spaugy of Stow, and Denise M. and Timothy Wigley of Silver Lake, Ohio. He had six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren he so enjoyed.
Yank will be sadly missed for his kind words and loving smile.
There will be no calling hours. Mass of The Christian Burial will be held at 9:45am on Saturday, March 24, 2007 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Cuyahoga Falls.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at The Briarwood for all their loving care.
