Obituary of Frank Lawrence Botz
Frank Lawrence Botz passed away Thursday, March 15, 2007 at Mayfair village in Columbus, Ohio.
A life-long resident of Akron, Frank was an only child born to Frank and Eva Botz on February 8, 1920. He attended St. Bernard's School and graduated from West High. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and spent more than 3 years stationed in England. He retired from the Akron Board of Education.
Mr. Botz is survived by his wife of 65 years, Veda Marie; son Frank K. Botz of Orange, TX; daughter Victoria and husband Lawrence Taylor of Columbus, OH; daughter Valerie and husband Dr. Christopher Morris of So. Burlington, VT; granddaughters Julie Miller (and her husband Scott), Stefanie Simer (and her husband Robert), and Victoria & Jennifer Morris; also 5 great-grandchildren-Zachary and Jordan Miller and Katherine, Julia, and Grant Simer; niece Dolores Gracan and nephew George Gracan and his family, and many cousins in the Akron area.
Frank was an avid reader and golfer with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved to dance and to spend time with family and friends, many of whom he had known since childhood. For 20 years after retirement he spent his winters in W. Palm Beach, FL. He was a life-long member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. He had been a resident of Mayfair Village Nursing Center in Columbus, OH.
Funeral services will be held Monday 9:30am at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd. and 10:00am at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
