Obituary of Betty Gene Woods

-GREEN Betty G. Woods, 80, passed away March 14, 2007 at Pebble Creek Care Center, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born in Parkersburg, WV on Christmas Eve in 1926, Betty had been an area resident nearly her entire life. Betty worked as a kindergarten teacher for The Green Local School System, retiring in 1989 with 27 years of devoted service, where she was very well respected and admired by her students. She was a member of Allenside Presbyterian Church as well as The Eastern Star FernLeaf Chapter 422 and Kappa Kappa Iota - Beta Conclave. Betty's hobbies included traveling and dancing. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Della Hall; brother Edward Jr. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Herschel of Green; sons and daughters-in-law Jerry and Louise of Stow, Dr. Thomas and Cindy of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Dr. Jeffrey Woods of Green; daughter and son-in-law Debra and Mike Vitou of Avon, OH; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of Pebble Creek Care Center for all of their loving care. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-5 pm at The Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home 95 W. Waterloo Rd. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
