Obituary of Renato Ciccolini

Renato "Ned" Ciccolini , 83, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 surrounded by his loving family. He had struggled with the affects of a stroke for the past two years.
Renato was born in Pretare, Italy. He came to America at the age of 5 and spent most of his life in the Akron area including living in Wadsworth for the past 11 years.
He retired from Goodyear Aerospace after a 42 year career as a manufacturing engineer and was also a real estate salesman and appraiser with Sanders Home Realty for over 30 years. He was a decorated veteran having served his country in the Army during WWII.
Renato will be dearly missed by his wife Helen and his four children, sons, Harry (Joan) of Hudson, Vince (Cathy) of Brookfield, WI, daughters, Renee (Gerry) of Tampa, FL and Michelle (Steve) of Wadsworth. He was a loving grandfather to Cassandra, James, Michael, Joseph, Vincent, Christopher, Brady and Reilly. He also had a special love for his many nephews and nieces and cousins and his sister-in-law Bonnie Ciccolini.
He was preceded in death by his father Salvatore, mother Tomassina, brother Emilio, and most recently by his beloved brother Elio.
His family and friends were always a very important part of his life. He was active in many social organizations including the Kenmore Italian Civic Club where he served as President for over 30 years, the Council of Italian American Societies of Summit County where he served as a Delegate and past President for over 30 years, as well as the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), AARP and the American Legion.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, March 15 from 4 to 9 PM at The Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Road. The membership of the Italian American Societies of Summit County will meet at 7:00 PM for a prayer service. The membership of the Kenmore Italian Civic Club will meet at the funeral home for a prayer service at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 16, at 10 AM with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital, Altercare of Wadsworth and Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Interval Brotherhood Homes 3445 S. Main St. Akron, OH 44319.
