Obituary of Margaret R. Seman

Margaret R. Seman (Hirschfelt) Margaret R. Seman,, 61, fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, January 31 , 2007 after a year long illness, surrounded by her loving family. Margaret was born in Akron on June 29, 1945, to the late George Hirschfelt and Grace (Fall) Hirschfelt. She considered her finest reward to be her surviving beloved husband of 38 years, John, and her sons Joseph J. of Naples Fla., John J. (Kelly), Michael J. (Mary), and daughter Paulette (Rick) Reed. Surviving grandchildren who Margaret dearly loved are Kyle of Naples Fla., Haleigh of Green, Ashley, Jordan & Brandon of Green, and Lauren, Hannah & Katie Reed of Springfield. Other survivors are devoted brother George (Lela) of Orlando Fla.; dear sister-in-laws Pat (Fritz) Westenbarger, Phyllis (Bill) Hesse, Pam (Danny) Chisholm, Jean (Thom) Spellman and many loving nieces and nephews. Margaret was the rare individual who had a score of close and loving friends. Margaret was a graduate of East High School and attended The University of Akron where she pledged Theta Phi sorority. Margaret was known for giving heart and community spirit. She was involved in numerous volunteer activities in Akron and Green, where she and John were 35 year residents. These included being a Cub Scout leader, President of the Green PTA, a life long member of National PTA, and a member of the Akron Christ Child Society. Her devotion to children and education were seen in her years of serving as a religion instructor at Queen of Heaven and St. Francis de Sales parishes. Margaret was a member of the Red Hat club, "Rubber City Racing Reds". After retiring from Bonne Bell, Margaret was fond of traveling with friends. Her zest for life, contagious smile and caring spirit made her a treasured partner to John and a blessing to her family and friends. Her positive spirit during her arduous and lengthy illness was an inspiration to all while her steadfast trust in God was a testimony to the Christian message lived. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:45am at the Anthony and Biscan Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Road, Uniontown, Ohio 44685 (corner of Massillon and Steese Rds. in Green) and 10:00am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Entombment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Margaret's memory. Checks made to the American Cancer Society can be sent in care of the funeral home.
