Obituary of Mary Drosyk

Mary Drosyk, beloved mother and friend, went to be with her Lord February 9, 2007. A lifelong resident of Akron, Oh, Mary was born in Papa, Hungary September 12, 1926. She immigrated to Austria in 1943 where she met her husband Nick in 1945 and wed on February 24, 1946. The family was sponsored by the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Church to come to Akron, OH in 1950. Mary was most happy when she was with family or tending to her beautiful gardens. Mary was preceded in death by her mother Helen, father Joseph and loving husband Nick. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth; her three loving children Nicholas and wife Shirley, Anna and husband Randall, Suzanne and husband Jimmy; surrogate daughter Meredith; three grandchildren Robert, James and John; and a host of other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday 9:30 a.m. at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd., and 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church. Fr. Peter Tomas officiating. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home where Parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Summa.
