Obituary of Harry F. Garlock
Harry Garlock, 86, passed away peacefully, with his daughter Ellen at his side, on January 20th, at The Hospice Care Center in Copley.
Born in Akron in 1920, Harry had been a lifetime area resident. He worked for many years as a carpenter and was a member of Carpenter's Local 639 for over 50 years. Harry served his country as a member of The Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a member of Firestone Park United Methodist Church.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Florence; wife Catherine in 2004 and son William Wray. He is survived by his sons Richard Wray and John Garlock; daughters Mary (Steve) Bache, Terry Johnson, and Ellen Herman; brother Jim Garlock; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 pm at The Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home 95 W. Waterloo Rd. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at The Firestone Park United Methodist Church, where Harry's body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Pastor John Beatty officiating. Interment Greenlawn Memorial Park where VFW Post 3383 will conduct military honors.
