Obituary of Alyce Luecke
Alyce Luecke, 88, went home to be with her husband Fred in Heaven on January 17th, at The Hospice Care Center in Copley.
Born in Randolph, Ohio in 1918, Alyce had been a lifelong area resident. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, where she led the Rosary at morning Mass for many years. Alyce was also a member of the church's Ladies Guild, Mission Group, and Study Club, as well as The Knights of Columbus #3410 Ladies Auxiliary.
Alyce was preceded in death by her husband of 63 Years, Fred J. in 2002, son Fred L. as well as 4 siblings. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law James T. and Christine of Cuyahoga Falls; daughters and sons-in-law Mary Ann & Larry Walker of Mogadore, Linda & Michael Gnaster of Chattanooga, TN, and Teresa King of Akron; daughter-in-law Kathleen Luecke of Copley; sisters Rita Pittinger and Sister Teresita Knapp O.P.; 34 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday from 4:30-8 pm at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home 95 W. Waterloo Rd., where a rosary will be said at 4:30 pm in memory of the years of faithful service Alyce devoted to the Blessed Mother. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 20th, the day they were married 67 years ago, starting at 9:30 am at the funeral home and continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church. Father Ralph Thomas officiating. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alyce's memory may be made to The Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service 3340 Ridgewood Rd. Akron, OH 44333.
