Obituary of Samuel Robert Greenaway
Samuel R. Greenaway, Sr., 79, passed away June 19, 2012.
Born in Jimtown Portage, Pennsylvania on February 21, 1933, he lived in Cuyahoga Falls for 57 years, worked on the Railroad at the Horseshoe Curve in Altoona, Pennsylvania, was employed at Bethleham Steel and worked as a carpenter for V.F. Conner Construction Company for 17 years after coming to Ohio at age 19. Bob retired early due to heart disease.
Preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Myrtle (Goldie) Greenaway; and his beloved wife of 59 years, Theresa; He is survived by daughters, Sharon (Tom) Hoffman, Sandra (Tom) Barefoot and Susan O'Brien; sons, Bob (Judy) and John Greenaway; grandchildren, Shari, Tommy, Andrew, Jennifer, Lisa, Michael, Rikki, Dani, Taylor, Adam, Amanda, Tyler, Emily and Summer; as well as 14 great-grandchildren; and one niece.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sandy for her loving care and making it possible for our dad to stay in his home which he built 58 years ago, and to the Hospice of Summa Team, Deanna, Linda, Joseph Lee, Amy, Stephanie, Kim, Alethia and Beverly; and to Dr. Dan Cevasco.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 25, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) in Cuyahoga Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls. (PROCESSION TO FORM AT THE CHURCH). Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
