Obituary of Margaret E. Marchese

Margaret E. (Peggy) Marchese, 76, went home to be with the Lord and her beloved husband, Joseph on Saturday, January 13, 2007. She was born in Akron on August 2, 1930 to Frank and Maria DiLauro, graduated from St. Vincent High School, was president of the Ohio State Woman's Club, president of St. Paul Ladies Guild and volunteered for many organizations. She was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and a former member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Peggy will be remembered for her sense of humor and the love she gave her family of 8 children, 14 grandchildren and 17 nieces and nephews. She so enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends. If life is measured by friends made, smiles enjoyed, laughter shared and love given, then Peggy's life was beyond measure. In addition to her husband of 49 years Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Daniel; and is survived by her sister Elizabeth (Nick) Battaglia, sister-in-law Patricia (John, dec.) Livigni; children Rosemary Carrick, Mary Margaret Beatty, Frank, Mark (Mariann), John, Lisa (Bob) Humphrey, Tom (Holly) and Chris (Lori). Special thanks to Greenview Inn which became her extended family and Akron City Hospital Palliative Care Center for making her final days peaceful. Funeral services will be held Monday 9:30am at the Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home, 95 W. Waterloo Rd. and 10:00am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends TODAY 3 to 6pm at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Akron City Hospital Palliative Care Center PO Box 2090, Akron, Ohio 44398-6153 or the Queen of Heaven Building Fund 1800 Steese Rd. Uniontown, Ohio 44685.
