Obituary of Phyllis Elaine Klein
Phyllis Elaine (Lovik) Klein, 77 years old, was ushered into the presence of her Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ on January 4, 2007. She was a good and faithful servant of God, as well as a beloved mother to 5 children, a wonderful grandmother to 13 grandchildren, great-grandmother to 3 and a devoted wife for 45 years to the Rev. Kenneth John Klein, formerly pastor at Firestone Park Baptist Church in Akron, Ohio and Norton Baptist Church in Norton, Ohio. Rev. Klein was called home to heaven to be with Jesus while preaching a Sunday morning sermon in June, 1994.
A daughter to pastor and chiropractor, Dr. Olaf P. Lovik and Ellen (Olsen) Lovik she was born in Omro, Wisconsin and grew up in Winneconne, Wisconsin. In her teenage years Phyllis won for two consecutive years Wisconsin state championships in music and speech. She grew up in a family that had its own orchestra and was a renowned soprano soloist with an operatic voice which she used during her husband's and her earthly ministry together. In her family heritage there are 16 Bible teaching and soul-winning preachers.
Mrs. Klein used her God-given vocal talent and speaking ability at numerous Christian churches especially for women's and young people's groups. She loved children and young people. She understood children are a gift from God and she served God as Music Minister, Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher in her husband's churches.
Phyllis Klein is survived by her 5 children and their spouses, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren including son Michael & wife Tzviah (Dank) Klein, Yoeli & Arieli; son Mark Klein; daughter Rebecca (Klein) Taylor & husband Donald, Amy (Bowling) Bower & husband Jonathan, Caleb & Ethan; Kari (Bowling) Mobley & husband Mike, Shawn & William, Heather (Bowling) Duncan & husband Mike; son Peter Klein, Chadwick Klein, Samuel Klein & Amanda Klein and daughter Jennifer (Klein) DiDonato & husband John, Joshua, Nicholas, Daniel, Emily & Rachel. Mrs. Klein is also survived by nieces and nephews and in-laws including Delbert, John & Gary Shea & family; David & Pam Sorenson & family; Ellen (Sorenson) Luther & family; Stephen Sorenson, wife & family.
The family will receive friends Monday, from 4-8 pm at The Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Funeral Home 95 W. Waterloo Rd. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 am, at The Firestone Park Baptist Church, 310 E. Wilbeth Rd. Pastor Oather Burney, Jr. officiating. Interment Greenlawn Memorial Park.
