Obituary of Anna Marie Vargo
After a full life of 83 years, Anna Mae Vargo started her new year and her new life with Jesus on January 7, 2015.
Anna Mae was born to humble means in Windber, PA to Michael & Mary Kleban. She started her career as a telephone operator in Washington, D.C. during the Korean War. After settling in Akron with her husband Andy, they began their family.
Anna Mae was a devoted wife and loving mother. She worked tirelessly to make a good home for her family and provide her two sons with opportunities, always putting others needs before her own. She taught her sons self-reliance and that they could do anything to which they set their minds. Anna Mae had a special place in her heart for children and was thrilled to spend time with her granddaughters. It was her family's honor to serve her with the compassionate help of Summa Hospice during her final time with us. Although she will be deeply missed, this new year will be the most special of her life being once again with her husband, Andy, in heaven.
She is survived by son Andrew, wife Sushmita and their daughter Natasha Vargo; and son Dr. Richard, wife Carol and daughter Michelle Vargo; sister, Margaret (Charles) Tomasevich, and brother, John (Carol) Kleban.
A funeral service will be held on January 14 at 9:15 a.m. at the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 755 S. Cleveland Ave. in Mogadore, where Anna Mae will lie in state for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 8:15 a.m. Interment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that memorials be made to the Akron Children's Hospital Foundation, ATTN: Foundation, One Perkins Square, Akron, OH 44308-1062.
