Obituary of Helen Redovian

Helen Redovian, age 97, a generous and very independent woman, passed away January 7, 2015, surrounded by her children. Born in Buffalo, Ohio on September 6, 1917, her family moved to Kenmore in 1928 and later moved to Barberton, Ohio. She worked at Sun Rubber until her marriage to Michael in June of 1950. She later worked at OK Potato Chip and then retired from Akron General Medical Center. She was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox church for over 60 years, where she loved to volunteer for various workshops, making pierogi and baked goods for the annual bazaar and other events. Preceded in death by her husband Michael in 1980, she is survived by son Timothy (Denise), daughter Barbara Chandler (Ron), son Greg and his late wife Vicki. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Adam Chandler (Jeni), Nichole Fewell (Ryan), Luke Chandler (Chrissy), Michael Redovian (Gabriel), David Redovian, and Kaitlyn Redovian. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren Gavin, Mason, Owen, Hannah, Nathan, Marissa, Landon, and Everette. The family would like to extend their extreme gratitude to Pleasant View Nursing Home for their excellent care and compassion during the last year of her life. You guys are the best. The family will receive friends on Sunday, 4-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a Parastas will take place at 7:30. A funeral service will take place on Monday, 9:30 am, at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church 755 South Cleveland Ave. Mogadore, OH 44260, where Helen will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.

A funeral service will take place on Monday, 9:30 am, at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church 755 South Cleveland Ave. Mogadore, OH 44260, where Helen will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.
