Obituary of Maria Consita Monk

Maria C. Monk, 86, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2014 surrounded by her family. Maria was born in Akron on April 13, 1928 to the late Louis and Jennie Ferrante. She married Lee Monk in 1954 and together they raised their two daughters. Maria had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor; she loved her children and grandchildren. She was a good neighbor and will be missed by many. In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Lee Monk; daughter Jennie Gaglione; and six of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter Frances Yahner; sister Katherine Limosana; grandchildren Joseph (Shannon) Yahner, Natalie (Brian) Strnad, and Dominic Gaglione. The family thanks Dr. John Sassano for his compassionate care and friendship, and Maria's caregiver Cindy Williams for her dedication and care. As per Maria's wishes, there will be no service. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
