Obituary of Lucy Beckwith Lodge
Lucy Beckwith Lodge, age 93, of Akron, OH, passed away on December 17, 2014.
Beloved wife to the late Walter Scott Lodge for 56 years, loving mother of Scott (Pamela), Livonia, MI, Ken, Ft. Myers, FL and the late Thomas (Joan), Columbus, OH. Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Susan Jacobs, and her sister Betty Locklin. Lucy is survived by her sister Jane May (Stockton, CA), grandchildren Eric (Kerri), Gilroy, CA, John, Toledo, OH, Sarah (Charles) Dublin, OH, and great grand children Brenden, Gilroy, CA, Jenna and Logan Manch, Dublin, OH.
Lucy was a pioneer of her generation serving as one of select few women in the Curtiss-Wright Aeronautical Engineering Cadette program during WWII. Lucy never missed Ohio State football games or episodes of Jeopardy. She was an active member of the Akron Woman's City Club and served on the Board of the Coach House Theatre. Her greatest joy came from playing bridge with her many cherished friends.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Rockynol Retirement Community at 1150 W. Market Steet in Akron. The Service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 24th and
will be followed by a reception at Rockynol. A construction project blocks the center's main entrance on Market St. Guests should park in the lot located at 1275 W. Exchange St. A free shuttle will provide transportation to the main facility.
