Obituary of Mary Irene Cochran

Mary Irene Cochran (Halmasy), 89, was welcomed into Heaven by Jesus and His Mother on December 21, 2014. Mary was born in Lorain, Ohio, to the late Julius and Mary Baumgartner Halmasy. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Mary retired from the General Tire & Rubber Co. after 40 years of service. She was an active member of the Generettes. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Thomas W. Cochran, Sr.; sister, Sister Wilma Halmasy, OSF; brothers Julius and Lawrence. She is survived by her sisters Margaret Strayer (Dwight) and Martha Sarlouis (Joseph); sisters-in-law Dolores and Bonnie Halmasy; step-children Anne (James) Eckenrode, Thomas Jr. (Peggy), Geary (Shelley), James, David, and Robert (Annette); step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who will miss her very much. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 4-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a Rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm prior to calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:00 am, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church 4019 Manchester Rd. Akron, OH 44319. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.

Visitation
