Obituary of Fannie Botz
Fannie was born in Akron on August 9, 1917 to Moisey and Dominika Rozko, Russian immigrants who came to the United States through Ellis Island. She died on December 11, 2014, at the age of 97.
She was the beloved wife of Nick Martin Botz whom she married in 1936, and a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Fannie was a longtime member of St. Andrew Episcopal Church where she was an active member of the St. Anne's Guild.
Her many years as a member of the local AARP organization, bowling league, craft group, and community volunteer efforts provided fond memories and close friendships.
Throughout her life, Fannie enjoyed the simple pleasures of cooking, needlework, card games, travel, visits with family & friends, and the companionship of pets.
Preceded in death by her parents, infant son David, husband Nick and brother John, Fannie is survived by her children Judy, Sandy and Nick; 3 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 14, 2014, from 4-7 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home KUCKO-ANTHONY-KERTESZ CHAPEL, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15, at 10:00 am at St. Andrew Episcopal Church 765 Thayer St. Akron, OH 44310. Interment will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park in Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Episcopal Church in memory of Fannie.
