Obituary of Norma Mae Carr

Norma Mae Carr, 90, formerly of Manchester, went home to be with the Lord on December 7, 2014. Born in Doylestown, OH on November 20, 1924 to the late Paul and Fern Shreiner, Norma had been a Manchester resident for most of her life. She was a graduate of Doylestown High School. She was a faithfulmember of the Cottage Grove E. C. Church, where she served in missions, the Heart to Heart Quilting Group, and as a Sundayschool teacher and Class leader for adult Bible Study. Norma was a creativehomemaker all her life, and yet found time to touch the lives of countless others outside the walls of her home. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren on the porch of their family lake cottage. She was affectionately known as 'GG.' In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, Bill in 2004, as well as her brother William Shreiner and sister Ruth Stahl. She is survived by her children William 'Tim' (Pat) Carr of Neshkoro WI, Twila (Larry) Miller of Jacksonville, FL, and Sherri (Dick) Sitz of Cuyahoga Falls; sister Miriam Spray of Barberton; grandchildren Erick Carr, Matt (Lily) Magsig, Jeff (Nichole) Sitz, Elizabeth Magsig, Lynsey (Travis) Eick; great-grandchildren McKenna, Charlie, Wyatt, Ava, Charli and Olivia. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral service will take place on Friday, at 11:00 am at the Cottage Grove E. C. Church 3133 Cottage Grove Rd. Akron, OH 44319, where the family will again receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.

Visitation

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral service will take place on Friday, at 11:00 am at the Cottage Grove E. C. Church 3133 Cottage Grove Rd. Akron, OH 44319, where the family will again receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Private inurnment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
