Walter (Wladimir) Molohosky
Walter Molohosky, passed away peacefully Monday October 7 at home with family by his side.
A lifetime resident, Walter was born in Firestone Park May 2, 1924. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1942 , and from Akron University following his service in the Pacific Theater of WWII aboard the USS Bennington. He then retired after 48 years of service from the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. He was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #555. Among the many medals earned during his service with the U.S. Navy was The Distinguished Flying Cross. The efforts of his squadron, VT82, are documented in the book Flyboys by the author James Brady.
He was preceded in death by parents, Elias and Mary Molohoskey; wife, Joan Patricia; son, Mark Ivan; daughter, Mary Susan; and sisters Olga, Vera, Nancy and Alexandra. He is survived by his children Walter II, David, and Tanya Molohosky; brother, Serge Molohoskey; and grandchildren, Alexandra Molohosky, Robert, Adam and Ryan Garrett and Olivia and Max Duckworth (Molohosky).
Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 755 S. Cleveland Ave. Mogadore, Ohio 44260 where Walter will lie in state and friends may call one hour prior to service. Very Rev. Fr. Nicholas Wyslutsky officiating. Interment at St. Nicholas Cemetery.
