Obituary of Leonard Michael Little

Massillon - Leonard M. Little, Jr., 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, October 6, 2014. Leonard was born October 28, 1931 to Leonard and Eunice (Hollis) Little in Philadelphia, PA. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. While in the Air Force, he met his beloved wife of 62 years, Barbara. He was employed as a printer by Akron Electrotype and Ohio Litho for over 30 years retiring in 1992. Leonard was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Green. He served as Lector, was Chairman of fund raising for the Parish Life Center and was the founding President of the Holy Name Society. He was a Loyola Board member and a member and former Commodore of the South Shore Yacht Club. He enjoyed golf and was a master woodworker and built the Altar and Ambo at Queen of Heaven. In addition to his wife, Leonard is survived by his children Robert (Starlind) Little, Martha (Ed) Partin, Michael (Patty), Leonard (Janice), William, Steven (Tammy), and Daniel (Erin) Little; brother Robert; sister-in-law Joyce Little; 16 Grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his infant son Daniel, daughter Carol Ann; brother Daniel and sister-in-law Helen Little. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the Anthony and Son Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Rd. (corner of Steese and Massillon Roads in Green. Entrance is off of Steese) where a Holy Name Rosary will be recited at 7:45 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 Am at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd., Uniontown OH 44685 and will be followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
