Obituary of Edward Michael Maluke
Edward M. Maluke, 76, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 1, 2014.
Ed was born October 16, 1937 to Michael and Katherine (Yaworsky) Maluke in Akron and had been an area resident his entire life. He attended the University of Akron and graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by Goodyear Aerospace and later Loral. He was a member of Ohio Air National Guard for over 25 years attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel. In his years with the Guard he worked on installation of security measures on a Presidential helicopter.
Ed was a member of MENSA, Toastmasters, wildlife organizations and was a licensed tree farmer. He was a Ham Radio operator with the call letters K8COI. He was a Mr. Fixit around the house and loved fishing, hunting, the outdoors and genealogy.
Ed is survived by his beloved sister Mary Maluke, his aunt Jean Maluke and many cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., Akron OH 44301 where funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00am.
