Obituary of Richard Edward Batsky
Richard E. Batsky, 88, of Westlake, died Sunday June 3rd, at Lutheran Home at Concord Reserve, Westlake.
He was born October 27, 1923 in Cleveland and graduated from John Adams High School, Cleveland in 1941. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army with the 102nd Infantry Division in Europe. He was employed for many years as a printer/press helper with Smith and Setron Printers, Cleveland, and Crane Howard Lithographers, Akron.
He was a devout Christian and a faithful and actively involved member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Cable Ave, Cleveland; and later St. John Luther Church, Akron.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Anna (Gerrasch) Batsky, and a brother Robert, of West Palm Beach, FL.
He is survived by his daughter Jo-Ann Subal, Cleveland; his sons Rev. Thomas (Susan) Batsky, St. Joseph, MI, and James (Cheryl) Batsky, Cleveland; his brother John (Elaine) Batsky, North Royalton; his grandchildren Darryl, Jeffrey, Christine Subal and Michael Batsky, and one great-granddaughter Kristyn Subal.
A service celebrating his Christian faith and eternal life will be held (DAY/TIME) at St. John Lutheran Church, 550 E. Wilbeth Road, Akron, with the Rev. John Eiwan officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg, with military rites. Friends may visit (DAY/DATE/TIME) one hour prior to the church service. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church, Akron; the Lutheran Home at Concord Reserve, Westlake; or Lutheran Family Services of Cleveland.
