Obituary of William Starosto

William Starosto, 85, of Akron passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 29, 2012. William was born October 17, 1926 to Michael and Helen Starosto in Akron and had been an area risident his entire life. He was employed by Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. for over 22 years retiring in 1988. He was a long time member and an usher at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He was a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3410 where he was on the golf and bowling teams as well as a traveling bowling league. He was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Rose; children David, Robert (Debbie) and Richard (Tina) Starosto; grandchildren Jennifer (Woody) Zook and Bryan (Candie), Mark(Elissa) and Karen Starosto; siblings Mary Popian, Helen (Steve) Berenyi and Frank (Mary) and Steve (Janet) Starosto; Many nieces, nephews cousins and friends. He was preceded by his parents and siblings Annie, John, George and Mike. A special heartfelt thank you to the Palliative Care nurses at Summa for the wonderful care and support Bill and his family received during the last days of his life. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends Friday 5 to 8 Pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S.
