Obituary of Mathew M. Pribanick

8/12/25 - 5/21/12 Mathew M. Pribanick Sr. took his final journey on Monday, May 21, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Pribanick. They were married over 57 years and he missed her so these past 16 months. In addition he was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary; siblings Frank and Rose. Mathew served in the United State Marine Corp during WWII during the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. Papa always said the Marines trained extremely hard and he was proud to be a Marine. Mathew retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. after 43 years of service. After retirement he spent most of his time gardening and raising Grandchildren. Thank you, Papa for sharing your passion for gardening in 2011 and teaching us how to plant, nourish and how to share the harvest of the fruits of your labor—just like in life. You always had a way of teaching lifelong lessons in your own way. Thank you! Mathew is survived by his son, Mathew Pribanick Jr. and his wife and caregiver Pam (Papa's angel); daughter Monica (Jon) Hill; stepdaughter Illona (Dan) Aleman; cousin Frank and Mary Begunich; and Special Friend Ron Juhas. Mathew is also survived by his pride and joy "his grandchildren": Matti Joe, Milan, Miranda (David), Brian and Sonya. A special thank you to Dr. Diane Minich for taking care of Papa and being so supportive to us these past few months. Thank you to VNS Laura and Sherry and Hospice of VNS Diane and Sharon. We love you Papa! Semper Fidelis! The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 7 Pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. A celebration of Mathew's life will be held Friday at 11:00 Am at the funeral home, immediately followed by a luncheon at the Anthony Funeral Home Community Room. Entombment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to be sent to Second Marine Division Association P.O. Box 8180 Camp Lejeune, NC 28547 in memory of Mathew M. Pribanick. (Anthony, 330.724.1281, www.anthony.fh.com)
