Obituary of Irene M. Spinelli
Irene M. (Cardarelli) Spinelli, 86, went home to be with the Lord and her beloved son, Jimmy on Saturday, August 2, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Akron and was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. She graduated from the Sacred Heart Academy in Akron. She was a beautician for 30 years most recently with LeFemme Beauty Salon retiring in the late 1990's. She was an Avon Representative for 38 years and a member of their President's Club each year to which she was very proud of. Irene enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners every Sunday for her family, yard work, bingo and being a member of the Jolly Misers Card Club. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was the best. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Summa (City) Hospital and to the Chapel Hill Community Rehabilitation Facility in Canal Fulton.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Mary (Crano) Cardarelli; her beloved son, James "Jimmy"; brother, James Cardarelli; sister, Geraldine Boykin; and brother, Anthony Cardarelli. She is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, John Spinelli; daughter, Darla (Roy) Shilts; sons, John, Gary (Sue DeHoff) and Tony Spinelli; grandchildren, Julie (Morgan) Knox, Roy Shilts, Jr. (Sarah Snider), Richard Shilts (Cazzi Oakes), Johnny Spinelli (Vanessa Nyeste), Ryan Spinelli and Erik Spinelli (fiancée, Elise Castelli); and her little special dog and companion, Odie.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Green. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. The family will receive friends Friday, 5 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Rd. (at the roundabout at Steese Rd.) in Green.
