Obituary of Mildred Speight

Mildred (Millie) Speight, 88, was called home to the kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, August 2, 2014. 'Happiness is…' was not only a favorite quote, it was the way she lived each day and she shared this positive outlook with her family and everyone she met. Born in Massillon, Ohio, and a proud 'Massillon Tiger' all her life, Millie was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, St. Paul's Ladies Guild, and the K of C wives. Her energy and activities were endless and she enjoyed spending time with her loving family, traveling and vacationing at the beach, as well as her favorite hobbies of golf, bowling, crocheting, painting, and music. Millie was past president of the Mogadore Country Club's Ladies Golf Association and a volunteer for the PGA World Series of Golf Charities. She was preceded in death by sisters, Dolores, Thelma, Leona and Jean. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Paul Speight, and her children, Patty (Bill) Saal, Jeanne (Bob) Jesson, Bob (Theresa) Speight, Don (Rene) Speight, Cindy (David) Ciraldo and Susan (Joe) Dzubara; brother, Leo (Carole) Grosswiller; sister, Carol (Ron) Tynan; 21 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Donations may be made to the Susan G. Comen Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, Texas 75244. (http://ww5.komen.org/). (Anthony, Akron, 330-724-1281, www.anthonyfh.com)
