Obituary of Mary Jean Brunton
Mary Jean Brunton, 82, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014.
She was born in Kent, Ohio and was one of the first members of St. Eugene Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Combo Group, St. Eugene's Bridge Club and past secretary and bonafide member of the Jednota Club. She was a legal secretary for Goodyear, executive secretary for Lucian Q. Moffitt and a secretary for the Summit County Board of Elections, Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department and the U.S. Postal Service. She was known for her love of God, family and friends. Her famous Coconut Creme pie, fresh baked breads and pastries including her sweet roll will be long gone but never forgotten. We wish to thank the staff at Copley Place, Brookdale of Bath (Alzheimer's Unit) and Visiting Nurses for their comfort, care and support during the past several years.
Mary Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Delia Vielhaber; husband, Robert David in 2010 to whom she was married to for 52 years; and brothers and sisters, Al, Margaret, Lucy, Bill, Ed, Dave and Leo. She is survived by daughter, Beth (Gary) Henry; sons, Alan (Nancy) and Marty (Patty) Brunton; grandchildren, Robbie, Taylor and Jordan Woods, Lexi (Travis) Todd and Charlie Brunton; great-grandson, Mason Todd; sisters-in-law, Barbara Hughes, Betty Smith and Joanne Thur; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 10 a.m. at St. Eugene Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, 3 to 6 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid and Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave, (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) in Cuyahoga Falls.
