Obituary of Andrew Robert Cole

Andrew Robert Cole, 39, of Akron, OH, walked through the gates of Heaven and into the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, in the early hours of July 25, 2014. Born on April 13, 1975, he is survived by his grandparents, Carl and Ruth Hughes; his parents, Don and Charlene Cole; and his three siblings, Lisa Durante (Alika, Alika Jr.), Timothy Cole (Tiffany), and Jeffrey Cole (Markie, Macaily, Maddie); and several aunts, uncles, & cousins. He was a 1997 graduate of Weaver School in Tallmadge and an employee at Weaver Workshop for 17 years. He joins his Grandparents, Lemmie Hance Cole (Marion), his nephew Mason Cole, and his two "sweeties", Bertha and Dorothy Morgan in eternity. Andy was the heart, soul, and sunlight of his family's life. His smile lit up even the darkest room. Countless people came to him for prayer and healing, and they never walked away without receiving a blessing. His life was a sterling example of what it meant to live as a Christian. His faith never faltered, and he never complained about his own pain. He worried about others while fighting (and surviving) for his life in the hospital, and both sick and weary came to his hospital room to receive blessings of prayer. His laughter was more beautiful than any song, and he was like an angel sent from God. He was a living inspiration and made people want to be the best person they could be. He loved music, playing and watching golf with his Dad, fishing, singing praise music, and cheering for the Browns and Indians. His greatest source of pride was becoming an usher at church, a role from which he never faltered. Andy had a direct line of communication with his Savior that no one except he fully understood, and people learned not to question him on matters of faith, truth and healing. While his passing was unexpected to his family, he no doubt was aware that he was finally going home after a job well-done and a destiny achieved. He never had the chance to wear out a pair of shoes, but his spirit ran like the wind, and his unending love for everyone he met will live on in the lives he touched. Special thanks go to Andrew's two favorite doctors, Dr. Robert T. Stone and Dr. Robert Klein; his caregivers, Mary Jones, Amelia Evans, and Sharon Rosen for their loving care, devotion, and dedication to both his life memory. Calling hours will be held from 4-8 pm at the Anthony Funeral home at 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, OH on Thursday, July 31. The funeral service will be at 4 o'clock on Friday, August 1, and held at Akron-Springfield Assembly of God at 1551 Canton Rd., Akron OH.
