Obituary of David I Price

David I. Price, 88, passed away on May 18, 2012. Born in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales to the late David and Blodwyn Price, David had been a Tallmadge resident for over 24 years. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1940-1948. Dave retired in 1986 from Consolidated Freightways, where he was employed as a truck driver for over 32 years. He was a member of the Mogadore VFW #1062, where he was one of the original members of the Honor Guard. Preceded in death by his son, David C.; sisters, Nancy and Betty; and brother, Thomas; David is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia; grandchildren, Susan Price, Virginia (Dennis) Unklesbay, Christopher (Damaris) Price, Matthew (Jill) Price, Tim Price, and Kate (Christian) Price-Segedy; as well as 11 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Val Rardin of Phoenix, Ariz. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL (at 3rd. St., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls). A funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron, where David will receive full military honors.
