Obituary of Charles W. Burley
Charles W. Burley, 91, was reunited with the love of his life for over 71 years, Marie, on March 24, 2013.
Born in Akron on April 13, 1921 to the late Walter and Thelma Burley, Charles had lived in Akron for almost 60 years before moving to Florida in 1983. He had been a Cuyahoga Falls resident since 1997. He retired after 38 years from the First National Bank of Akron. Charles truly loved the Lord and was an active member at churches both here locally and in Florida. He was a Worthy Patron of Elva #1961, a 32nd Degree Mason of the Joppa Lodge & Consistory, a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rites, and the past-president of the East Akron Kiwanis.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Marie on January 10, 2013; son, Robert W. Burley; granddaughter, Debra Burley; and brother, Theron Burley. He is survived by his children, Patricia (David) Grimes of Uniontown, Carol (David) Lewis of Cuyahoga Falls, Roger (Vicky) Burley of Brandon, Fla.; grandchildren, Robert Burley II, Robin Thayer, Karen (Kurt) Camden, Kathryn (Woody) Harvey, Cheri (Dennis) King, Christen (Joseph) Stanley, Timothy Burley, Brian (Reiko) Burley; as well as 21 great-grandchildren.
