Obituary of Mary Sloop

Mary (Brislinger) Sloop passed away October 15, 2012. She was born September 1, 1916 to Eva and Andrew Brislinger and was married to Roy Sloop, for 42 years. Mary and Roy owned and operated a fishing and hunting camp in Burridge, Ontario, Canada for 35 years. When Mary returned to Akron she loved to crochet for family, friends and Warm Up Akron. She enjoyed playing bingo and doing crafts at New Horizon Senior Center and was known as the "Craft Queen." Preceding her in death was her husband, Roy and brothers, Joseph, John Mack, Andy and Tony Brislinger. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Ginny (Bob) Krantz, Rosemary (Dick) Brady, Tom (Kay) Brislinger, Judy (George) Ross, Roger (Nancy) Brislinger, Becky Brislinger; and numerous generations of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank AGMC, Hospice of Ridgewood, Traditions of Portage Trail Village and Mary's great-niece, Cathy Harget for her unselfish love and care.

Visitation

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, November 2nd at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls Ohio. Mary's final resting place will be in Canada with her beloved husband Roy, "Together Again." In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's name to the Fr. McIntyre Fund c/o IHM Catholic Church or Hospice of VNS, 3358 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, Ohio 44333.
