Obituary of Alice J. Roach

Alice J. Roach, 92, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Akron City Hospital after a brief illness. She was born on February 10, 1920 to Glenn and Alfretta (Huey) McQuaid in Orville, Ohio and had been an Akron resident her entire life. She was a member of Firestone Park Methodist Church. Her passion was gardening; she loved to watch things grow. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, James "Russ" Roach in 1986, and is survived by her sons, Gary (Carol) Roach and David (Ruth) Roach; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St., with Rev. Patricia Christ and Rev. Max Beery officiating. Interment at Green lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends TODAY, 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to Firestone Park Methodist Church, 250 N.
