Obituary of Neva Sayers
Neva Sayers, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on January 18, 2012, at her home in Cuyahoga Falls.
Born in Barnsville, Ohio on February 19, 1924 to the late Victor and Olive Neptune, Neva had been a Cuyahoga Falls resident for most of her life. She was a 1942 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. During World War II, Neva worked for Goodyear Aircraft, installing radio units in Corsair Airplanes.
Neva was a constant inspiration to her family and was the glue that held it together. She was a loving and caring mother and grandmother, whose life was spent devoted to her family.
In addition to her parents, Neva was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Sayers. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Donald; children, Linda (David) Bailey, Barbara (Roger) Lanier, and Janet (Ron) Thomas; grandchildren, Misty (Jim) (nee Waybright) Smith, Heather (Jim) (nee Bailey) Rios, Erin (Martin) (nee Weston) Poteralski, Jenna Bailey, and Rob Weston; great-grand-children Isaiah, Josiah, Elijah, Noah and Micaiah Rios, Kaylie Weston, Aven Smith, Emmy and Gilly Poteralski.
The family will receive friends TODAY from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, at 3rd St., one block north of Portage Trail in the Falls. A funeral service will take place on Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Les Sutherland officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
