Obituary of Eileen Veronica Dragon

Eileen Veronica Dragan, 91, passed away on January 12, at the Village of St. Edward. Born in Rankin, Pa. on August 21, 1920 to the late Wasyl and Veronica (Stachurski) Dragan, Eileen had been an Akron resident for most of her life. She retired from the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. in 1977 with over 35 years of service. She was a member of the former St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. In addition to her parents; Eileen was preceded in death by her brother, Joe and her sister-in-law, Anna Dragan. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Doris Dragan of Seal Beach, Calif.; nieces and nephews, Chris Dragan, Joe (Patty) Dragan, Kathleen Dragan, Joe (Mary) Dragan, Patricia Dragan; and great-nephew, Joe Dragan; cousin, Frank Guzowski. Special thanks is given to the Cannavo family, who were dear friends of Eileen during her lifetime and were very supportive of her during her illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 21, at 11 a.m. at the Village of St. Edward on Smith Rd. in Fairlawn, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Village of St. Edward.
